SENIOR VICE PRSIDENT, DESIGN + CONSTRUCTION

  • Brand Development - Creating a new brick-and-mortar concept for Cinemark - a Family Entertainment Center encompassing an integrated bowling, gaming, dining, and moviegoing experience for the first time under one roof, and from the ground up, in the Cinemark portfolio. 3 locations Opening in 2025.

  • Developed a vision for the Company’s Construction and design department, including a multi-year roadmap, aligned with the Company’s business objectives and priorities for all capital improvement and facilities projects.

  • Working directly with the Company’s internal Real Estate department to review, conceptualize, analyze, and conduct due diligence on all potential development projects.

  • Overseeing the design, staffing, compliance, scheduling, construction, budget, and contractual commitments of the Company’s development projects.

  • Partnering with the Company’s Procurement department to oversee the sourcing and management of the Company’s external real estate and facilities suppliers to ensure the optimal delivery of key contracts and projects.

  • Create and implement full spectrum of Development disciplines for newly created Private Equity backed Retail concept – Corporate owned and Franchise owned fleet. 

  • Real Estate – Franchisee guidance of market strategies, and lease implementation. Corporate implementation of market study, strategy guidance, and market implementation through lease execution.

  • Architecture + Design – Implementation of two new design concept prototypes.  Develop architectural design controls for franchisee implementation – 2021fleet expansion.

  • Construction – Contract and manage construction efforts for corporate-owned stores and subsequent franchisee expansion.

  • Facilities + Maintenance – Develop a new program for back-end support of all brick and mortar assets.  Stores, manufacturing facilities, Offices.

2015-2020

Vice President - Architecture, Design, Facilities & Construction

  • Implement and advise corporate Development lifecycle from real estate site selection to concept design and architecture, construction, post opening facility maintenance and eventual closure.

  • Assembled “world class” vendor base of Architects, Designers, Engineers, General Contractors, and staff capable of delivering high-end concepts on and aggressive schedule - on time and on budget. Annual capital append of $60+ million.

  • Strategized long range store growth plan for brand founded in 2009 - inclusive of progressive staffing needs, capital spending projections, and ongoing cross-functional collaboration.

  • Increased store fleet from 50 (in 2015) to 120 (late 2019) generating an annual sales volume of $250+ million.

  • Developed brick and mortar concept for “A Beautiful Soul”– a women’s plus sized concept with 20 shop-in-shops and 16 new standalone locations in 2019.

  • Implemented Facilities and Repairs/Maintenance program for stores and corporate offices.

  • Re-energized and evolved the Altar’d State brand store concept to align with and create a connection to the targeted female customer. Through a thoughtful brick and mortar experience, tell her a story of femininity, texture and philanthropy. An experience she can get nowhere else.

Vice President - Architecture, Design, Facilities, & Construction

  • Mentor, develop & lead a team of Store Design, Construction, Purchasing, and Facilities Management professionals – 5 Direct reports and total team of 40+.

  • Serve as primary functional business leader to Executive Management to develop short and long term store planning, design, construction, capital purchasing, and facilities strategies to support corporate store growth initiatives and maintain existing fleet of 1,500+ stores.

  • Coordinate with internal Brand business partners for 4 unique brands – Chico’s, White House|Black Market, Soma Intimates, and Boston Proper (such as Real Estate, Operations, Merchandising and Marketing) to ensure “Brand Right” execution of Store Design and Construction initiatives.

  • Develop and manage the project budgeting process from Real Estate deal inception through construction, opening, and project closeout. Annual capital budget of $80+ million.

  • Ensure quality, cost effective construction through value engineering – without sacrificing Design Concept intent. (Ex: Soma store concept cost reduction of $25 psf – which was reallocated to increase new store project count).

  • Manage multiple strategic priorities such as new unit openings, new concept development, new existing store expansions/enhancements.

  • Develop comprehensive processes for Store Development department from Real Estate review through store opening and closeout. Implement throughout 4 brand shared services structure (White House|Black Market, Chico’s, Soma, Boston Proper).

  • Direct drive of rollout efforts for corporate growth initiatives of Multi Brand design efforts (White House|Black Market, Boston Proper). 80+ store projects annually - including new stores, expansions, remodels and refreshes).

  • Oversee conceptual design and timelines with Brand aesthetics and cadence and respective budgets within Board approved parameters (approx. $20 million annually).

  • Mentor, guide, and manage Store Design (4) and Construction (3) teams in execution and efficiencies of respective disciplines.

  • Evolve interdepartmental collaboration (Real Estate, Finance, Visual Merchandising, et al) and relationships for work stream improvements.

  • Developing, adapting and implementing corporate (global) identity and design standard for expanding North American and South American markets - including Flagship, Specialty Retail, Factory Outlet locations and wholesale (shop in shops).

  • Design and construction of North American showroom/office renovation located in New York City, and Montreal, Quebec - Including the necessary fixture detailing and manufacturing, and in-project management.

  • Integrate corporate (global) planning procedures and standards - including: a) square meter divisional breakdowns - to monitor correct divisional financial liabilities within store operating costs b) store design processes – to insure the proper interpretation of global design concept.
